Stomach Cramps in Early Pregnancy

However early pregnancy signs of stomach cramps are not as intense as the normal ones and it is like more of a tugging or pulling feeling of the stomach which can be caused due to expansion of the muscles to accommodate the expanding uterus. Normally these symptoms are not a cause for concern or worry.

A miscarriage sign? Yes, the early pregnancy signs of stomach in the form of cramps are also sometimes an indication of impending miscarriage. Sometimes women go through a healthy pregnancy and delivery even with cramps and bleeding.  So, if you have had cramps in your earlier pregnancies too, then you need not worry. However about 15% of pregnancies where cramps occur do end up in miscarriage especially if you do not consult a doctor at the first sign. Remember an early detection of signs can save miscarriage.

Severe cramps on one side of the body could be a sign of ectopic pregnancy wherein the embryo has implanted itself in that side of the fallopian tube instead of the uterus. Especially in an ectopic pregnancy one has to be extra careful when you see an early pregnancy signs of stomach because if the fallopian tube bursts internal bleeding will take place and it can be fatal to the mother. The tube can burst when you are well into your third month too.
