Early Pregnancy Signs in First week

Woman feel uncomfortableAs you know the sperm fertilizes with the ova to become a single cell called the Zygote/embryo. The zygote shaped like a pinhead travels through the fallopian tube and implants in the uterine wall within seven to ten days after fertilization. Anytime after successful implantations early pregnancy signs in first week start appearing and these signs vary from woman to woman. These signs are directly related to the difference in hormone levels during pregnancy.

Passing Urine frequently: The number of times you urinate per day increases and this is one of the early pregnancy signs in first week. This happens earlier then the missed menses, just less than two weeks after your body temperature raises indicating ovulation. The hormone HCG or human chorionic gonadotropin produced in the body after successful conception leads to increase in frequency of urination.

Rise in body temperature
: Your basal body temperature increases during ovulation and normally comes down after ovulation and if there is no conception. However, if your body temperature continues to remains high through the time when you would normally have your menses, then it is indicative of early pregnancy signs in first week.

Miss in menstrual cycle: This of course is one of the common signs of pregnancy. However, even this very obvious pregnancy sign cannot be conclusive since a miss in the menstrual cycle can happen due to health issues, stress or anxiety levels, place change, hormonal imbalance and drastic change in food intake. But for a person who has very regular menses this could be a positive sign.

Unusual fatigue
: Fatigue as an early pregnancy sign in first week is a little difficult to recognize since fatigue can happen due to heavy workload or other exhaustive chores. Fatigue is also caused due to differences in hormone levels and goes away once the body gets used to increase in hormone production.

Cramps: The contraction and relaxing of the uterus during early pregnancy can cause cramps and anything mild like movement and even exercises can cause cramps.

Breast tenderness: The breast feeling tender, sore and heavy are one of the early pregnancy signs in first week.  The areolas or the place around the nipples become dark and the tiny mounds around the nipples grow slightly larger and the nipple itself becomes very sensitive to touch.

Most of these early pregnancy signs in first week are caused due to change in hormone levels and most of them disappear once the body gets used to the change. As I said these signs are inconclusive and it is better to take pregnancy tests. A blood test can be accurate as early as within 10 days and urine test can be correct within 2 weeks of conception. The test can be repeated after a few days if it shows up negative the first time. However these tests just like the pregnancy signs are not totally dependable and it is better to see a gynecologist.
